The bond shall be based on each charge filed against a Defendant. For example, a Defendant charged with OWI (Class A Misdemeanor) and Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor) shall post either a bail bond (commonly called a surety bond) in the amount of $13,000.00 or the 10% cash alternative in the amount of $1,300.00.
The above schedule applies when there is no arrest warrant and is subject to modification only upon order of the Judge of the Superior or Circuit Court. When an arrest warrant is issued the above schedule will not apply as the full bail bond (surety bond) or the cash bond alternative (normally 10% of the full bond) will be listed on the warrant. If an individual is arrested for a Class A, B, or C Felony, bond will be set by the judge.
No Defendant shall be released on bond unless there is a signed promise to appear properly filled out by the Clerk’s Office or the Sheriff’s Office.
OUT-OF-STATE BOND DOUBLED An individual with an out-of-state license or address shall post double the amount of bond as calculated pursuant to this schedule.
You now have more ways to leave money for an inmate. You can leave cash or swipe a debit/credit card in a kiosk in our lobby or Visit Tiger Correctional Services to add funds online. There is a $200 limit on cash transactions and a $150 limit on debit/credit transactions.
You can also leave money online or even buy certain items for an inmate!

The Corrections Division of the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office maintains the efficient, safe operation of the Gibson County Jail.
The Gibson County Jail takes security seriously. A total of over 100 video cameras continuously monitor all activity within the jail and work release facilities 24 hours a day. All doors and lights are controlled from within the Communications Center. These are connected to a large diesel-powered generator and a computer UPS power supply system that ensures the safe operation of the jail in the event of a power outage.
The Gibson County Jail is one of only 10 jails in the state of Indiana that is accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. In October 1997, the entire facility became a tobacco product-free facility.

This new building will include the County Jail, Sheriff’s Office, and 911 Dispatch Center. The construction site is located along E Brumfield Ave., directly behind the existing jail.
