The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for the following positions: 

  • Full-time Corrections Officer (Jail) – Applications accepted until all positions are filled.  Starting pay is $22.00 per hour.
  • Full-time Field Officer (Community Corrections) (Use the Communications/Corrections application) – Applications accepted until the position is filled.  Starting pay is $23.00 per hour.
  • Full-time Communications Officer (911 Dispatcher) – Applications accepted until all positions are filled.  Starting pay is $20.03 per hour.
  • Full-time Probationary Deputy – Applications accepted until all positions are filled.  Starting pay is $25.96 per hour.

Applications can be picked up at the Gibson County Sheriffs Office Monday – Friday,
 
7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Full-Time Employee Benefits

Up to 16 paid holidays per year
– Depending on the assigned work schedule

 

Retirement plan 100% funded by employer 

Vacation Days:
5 days after 1 year
10 days after 2 years
15 days after 5 years
20 days after 10 years
25 days after 15 years
30 days after 20 years 

5 personal days per year
– 1st year pro-rated based on hire date 

Eligible 6-week major medical leave
– After 1 year of employment 

Health Insurance: Medical, prescription, dental,
and vision insurance for $22.50 bi-weekly per employee.  Spouse and dependents at no additional cost. 
Begins the ninth week of employment. 

Life insurance: $25,000 policy for employee, $3,000 for spouse, and $1,500 per dependent.  The policy is 100% funded by the employer.  Begins ninth week of employment 

Short-term disability policy 100% funded by employer 

FMLA is available after 1 full year of continuous employment. 

– Longevity Pay is a lump sum bonus paid annually for each year of continuous full-time employment for up to 30 years.
